From Lemon Trails To Private Boat Rides, Here’s the Perfect Amalfi Coast Itinerary

Weekend Edits

Nov 1, 2025

These Amalfi Coast adventures feel straight out of a dreamy Italian film.

Perched amongst the dramatic cliffs of the Italian coastline is the town of Positano, a crown jewel. I chose this destination as my home base to explore the Amalfi Coast—specifically, Hotel Conca D’Oro—and I’m so glad I did.

Here, charming cobblestone paths and dramatic steps lead to timeless beauty, rich history, vibrant hand-painted pottery, fresh seafood, and fine Italian wine. The steep, winding streets cascade down the mountainside and are lined with buildings in hues of peach, cream, pink, and yellow.

Every moment spent in Positano feels like a dreamy scene from a classic Italian film. Start your day in a leather workshop and design your own custom, handcrafted sandals. Or, indulge in a wine tasting experience and learn all about the wines of the region while savoring a fresh charcuterie spread. For a true la dolce vita experience, rent a vintage Italian car or scooter and explore.

And of course, treat yourself to a few treasures from the many local boutiques. One of my favorites is Antica Sartoria, which sells gorgeous colorful sundresses, breezy beachwear, and statement jewels, scarves, and handbags that scream “Positano.”

A picture-perfect ferry ride will get you to each magnificent town you’d like to explore, and every one of these authentic experiences is a special one to consider adding to your Amalfi Coast bucket list.

The Path of Lemons, From Minori to Maiori (Or Vice Versa)

Lace up your sneakers and slip on your sunnies for a scenic hike along the famous Sentiero dei Limoni, aka the Path of the Lemons. This breathtaking ~1.5 to 2-mile trail winds through fragrant lemon tree groves and offers panoramic views.

Midway along the trail, Agricola Ruocco's is a perfectly refreshing citrus oasis nestled under a vined arbor. Here, you can treat yourself to a limoncello spritz, chilled lemon water, or a divine lemon sorbet.

Whether you choose to enjoy lunch before or after your walk—or depending on which town you end in—I highly recommend grabbing a table at Azienda Agricola Cuonc Cuonc. Their farm-to-table dining is as unforgettable as the path you take to get there. Think: a chilled glass of house wine accompanied by a charcuterie spread of cheese, cold cuts, pickles, honey, and seasonal jams—then a warm bowl of handmade lemon scialatielli pasta.

Farm-To-Table Cooking Class—With Unlimited Homemade Peach Wine—in Amalfi

Whether you’re a foodie, wellness enthusiast, or adventure seeker, taking an authentic Italian cooking class at Amalfi Heaven Gardens is sure to be a top highlight of your trip. The experience starts in the family’s charming garden with a glass (or two) of homemade peach wine. This is also where the fresh produce is grown for the recipes you will prepare.

As you take in the stunning views and savory aromas, you will learn how to prepare various parts of the day’s menu, picking up beloved techniques, secret tips, and the pure passion of Italian cooking as you prepare a feast with your class that you’ll surely remember for years to come.

Our group made Italian specialties like ricotta-stuffed zucchini flowers, eggplant caponata, veggie-stuffed peppers, and gnocchi with tomato sauce. We enjoyed the feast together at a long farm table overlooking the sea, naturally ending the class with a limoncello toast.

Hidden Gems in Capri and Anacapri

Capri and Anacapri are must-visit spots on any Amalfi Coast getaway. While most travelers hopped on a bus to Anacapri straight off the ferry, we headed to Capri Town first—and it was the perfect choice.

We strolled through the beautiful Gardens of Augustus, enjoying fresh lemon sorbet and fig-honey slushies along the way. From there, we made our way down Via Krupp and into Marina Piccola, where we discovered the dreamiest little Mediterranean beach bar: Ristorante da Ciro. Pro tip: Don’t miss the homemade basil fettuccine with baby clams and zucchini, paired with an Aperol Spritz.

Wrap up the day with a ride on the chairlift to the top of Monte Solaro—the highest point of the island—for truly unparalleled views.

Private Boat Ride Along the Coast

A private boat ride along the Amalfi Coast is honestly necessary—it’s an unforgettable way to experience the coast. Bluestar Positano connected us with Captain Gianfranco, the most welcoming guide and host.

As we cruised through the sparkling blue waters, we sipped Prosecco, enjoyed tasty bites, and took refreshing dips and swims right off the side of our boat. Along the way, we passed many iconic spots, including the Blue and Green Grottos, and even Sophia Loren’s cliffside home. The day was filled with photo snapping, soaking in beautiful scenery, and capturing the coast from a most prestigious vantage point.
